If you want to run IIS on your own server, you need to manually install the requisite components. By default, the classic ASP is not installed when you install the Web Server. For this reason, when you try to redirect to an ASP page on the server, you may receive HTTP Error 404 – Page not found, or you may find the source code of this ASP page present in your browser window. Both errors are likely to appear if configuration settings are not installed. However, the configuration is needed when defining the server-side scripting environment for classic ASP.
