Validation

Domain Validation (DV)

Domain-level validation is the most basic type of SSL. These certificates provide basic encryption, are issued very quickly and involve a simple check to verify domain ownership. Domain-validated certificates are generally the least expensive.

Organization Validation (OV)

Organization-validated SSL certificates include authentication of the business or organization behind the domain. This provides a higher level of security and lets customers know they can trust your server with their personal information.

Extended Validation (EV)

Extended validation is top of the line. With extended validation, the certifying authority conducts a very in-depth examination of your business before issuing the certificate. This type of SSL provides the highest degree of security and user trust.

Domains Secured

Single Domain

Single-domain SSL certificates provide security for a single fully qualified domain name.

Wildcard

Wildcard SSL certificates provide security for all the same-level subdomains of a domain.

Multiple Domains

A multi-domain SSL certificate provides secured communications for multiple domains and multiple host names operating on different IP addresses.

SSL protecting a single website

This type of SSL can be applied for a single domain. It can be a top-level domain or one of sub-domains of the top-level domain.

SSL protecting all subdomains

This type of SSL can secure unlimited sub-domains of a single domain.

SSL protecting multi-websites

This type of SSL can secure multiple websites including up to 100 domains. You are supposed to know the following subjects:

  1. We provide DV, Comodo SSL certificate. It works with Microsoft RSA SChannel Cryptographic Provider and the bit length is 2048.
  2. Business Plan users can get a free SSL certificate. This certificate is used to protect a single domain.
